The Institute of Insurance and Risk Management (IIRM) here has decided to start post-graduate diploma courses in insurance through the distance learning mode from March 2007. Admissions would be open up to January 31, for the stream. Employed professionals and self-employed persons aged 35 years and above having a Bachelor's degree in any discipline (including engineering and management) with at least 50 per cent marks can apply.

In a press release, IIRM, which was set up jointly by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDA) and the Andhra Pradesh Government, said details could be had from its Web site, iirmworld.org.in (distance learning section). Currently, the institute is offering full time, one-year international post-graduate diploma course in insurance and risk management for fresh graduates.
