Aurobindo gets USFDA nod

Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (APL) has informed the BSE that the company has received the final approval for Simvastatin tablets in the dosages 5,10,20,40 and 80 mg from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).

In another release APL said it was given the "Asia Star 2006" award for packaging excellence. This award is presented for excellence in packaging product designed for US markets called compliance pack. The pack provides convenient once a day dosage form and the direction and calendar guide for the patient for 30 days. The pack is approved by US FDA for Citalopram Hydrobromide and Mirtazapine tablets. The Asia Star is awarded by Asian Packaging Federation, a non-profit organisation established in Tokyo, Japan in 1967, to unite the packaging interests of all trades and industries in the Asia Pacific region and beyond, under one co-operative umbrella.
