Institute for artificial intelligence to be set up

An investment close to Rs 100 crore is being utilised by the Intelligent Business Systems for the setting up of the first artificial intelligence focussed institute. The institute would provide graduate and post-graduate level degrees: M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D., in areas such as computational neuroscience, intelligent systems and computational intelligence. Talking to presspersons, Dr Kaustubh Choksi, Chief Executive Officer of IBS, said the institute would be set up within one and half years.

It is also planning to set up about six institutes across the country and would be looking at Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai, besides Pune. He said it is earmarking close to Rs 25 crore each for the setting up of the other institutes.

He said about 500 people in various batches in about 10 streams would be offered the course and IBS would be taking a dual route in offering these courses. It would be offered at franchisee outlets as also at its institute.

He said it would be setting up 100 branches across the country within two years.

Dr Choksi said the target students would be the software professionals or user IT departments and students who have completed MCA., B. Tech and B.E. for its short and long term courses.
