Orissa to have sports complex

The foundation stone of a sports complex was laid at Shankarpur, Keonjhar, by the Orissa Chief Minister, Mr Naveen Patnaik, on Monday. Mr H.M. Nerurkar, Vice-President, Tata Steel, along with senior officials of the Government and Tata Steel were present on the occasion.

While Mr Patnaik thanked the company for constructing the sports complex, Mr Nerurkar said the State Government's effort to provide support for the project strengthened the company's efforts to provide better education, health and sports facilities to the people of Orissa.

The construction work will be undertaken by the Jamshedpur Utilities Services Company Ltd, a subsidiary of Tata Steel. The Orissa Government is providing the land for the complex, the release added.
