Airlines Government - Security `Indian' Hawk tests its wings Our Bureau
HT001 is the first of 66 Hawk AJTs being acquired for the IAF. The first 24 aircraft will be built by BAE and delivered from September 2007 onwards. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd will make the remaining under licence at Bangalore and expects to have the first one out in 2008. Forty IAF pilots have received interim training at RAF Valley in Wales, as per the deal the Government of India and BAE signed in March 1994.
