Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 13

The State Government will soon implement what is being described as a `latter day White Revolution' through a tailor-made `ksheera dhara' project. Announcing this, the Chief Minister, Mr V. S. Achuthanandan, said at a function here that `ksheera dhara' would provide for an artificial insemination regime using frozen premium bull sperm samples. The function saw the `ksheera dhara' project being formally launched. With the implementation of the project, it is expected that the State will not have to depend on other States for daily milk supplies. Speaking on the occasion, the Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Mr C. Divakaran, said the State would become self-sufficient in milk production in two years.
