Carbon credits

This is with reference to "Carbon credit: Future is in commodity exchanges," (Business Line, December 5). The commodity exchange mechanism for efficient price discovery for carbon emission receipts should be highlighted more in the media.

The Tamil Nadu Government has taken the initiative to convert barren lands into Jatropha plantations; it is hoped that this commodity finds a place in carbon emission sector as a top commodity.
