Govt hopes to get Pension Bill passed

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Nov. 29

The Government is hopeful of evolving a consensus on the pension reforms Bill and getting it passed in the ongoing winter session of Parliament, the Minister of State for Finance, Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal, said here on Wednesday.

"I am not a pessimist. We are trying to bring every one on board and we want everyone to support it (Bill) in Parliament. We are working in this direction," Mr Bansal told presspersons when asked whether he expected the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority Bill to get passed in the current session of Parliament.

On the issue of pension funds being invested in the capital market, Mr Bansal said it was for the capital market and its players to convince the "doubting thomases".
