Nandan Biomatrix launches standardised plant extracts

Hyderabad-based nutraceuticals company Nandan Biomatrix Ltd has launched its standardised medicinal plant extracts.

"We develop and commercialise proprietary compounds from medicinal plants to address the unmet needs of people in the aphrodisiac, cosmetic, nutritional supplements and general health products markets within the country and globally. Our integrated business strategy encompasses cultivation, R&D, processing and marketing," said Mr V. Bhaskar Rao, Managing Director, Nandan Biomatrix.

"We have more than 40,000 acres under contract farming and are the first company to get into crop insurance for medicinal plants," he added

The main focus will be on safed musli (Chlorophytum borivilianum), aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis miller) and Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana).

According to Food and Agriculture Organisation, the international market for medicinal plants is worth over $60 billion per year. .
