SSM Academy for International Certifications (SSMAIC), a part of the SSM College of Engineering in Komarapalayam, has been licensed to award the European computer driving licence (ECDL) and International quality licence - Textile (IQL) certificates. The licence for the two skill authentication programmes has been awarded by the Banyan Tree Knowledge Centre, owned by the Banyan Tree Holdings (BTH), Italy, in collaboration with the Italian Association for Information Technology (AICA), Italy. The SSMAIC test centre was inaugurated on November 24, according to a communication from Mr C. Vijayakumar, Director, School of Computer Studies, SSMCE. The ECDL is the system of certification to evaluate and authenticate the level of knowledge of a person in the field of information technology and IQL (textile) is the quality certification system in the area of quality control and management in textile

sector.
