24/7 Ascend prepares students, faculties and institutions for BPO career

Coimbatore , Nov 26

The Bharathiar University and business process outsourcing company 24/7 Customer have launched a joint initiative to develop talent for the BPO industry.

This industry-academia partnership programme - `24/7 Ascend' prepares the students, faculty and institutions for the BPO industry and throws light on the career opportunities the industry offers.

The programme, according to Mr S. Nagarajan, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, 24/7 Customer, provides corporate benefit to academic institutions by training the faculty on industry-related skills, in assisting them develop industry-specific curriculum, support research-related course-work etc. "24/7 Ascend was launched in Andhra Pradesh five months back. It was later introduced in the North Eastern States and Karnataka before this initiative with the Bharathiar University," he said.

About 100 placement officers from 108 colleges (under the Bharathiar University umbrella) attended the workshop. The Bharathiar University Vice Chancellor, Dr G. Thiruvasagam, said the 24/7 Ascend program would benefit the industry, academia and the students.
