IT Training CYS Multimedia to open more training centres Our Bureau
Chennai , Nov. 22 The Chennai-based CYS Multimedia, a division of CYS Systems Private Ltd, is investing about Rs 50 crore in expanding its training centres and setting up a production facility. The company offers a one-year training programme in multimedia catering specifically to corporate requirements. Funded through bank loans, about Rs 25 crore will be used to open centres two in Chennai and one each in Tiruchi and Coimbatore by January. The company, which has two centres in Chennai with 60 technical and administrative staff in each, plans to set up two more in the city. According to Mr C.Y. Sathya, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, CYS Multimedia, the shortage of media professionals has triggered this expansion. "At present we are facing demand for 840 candidates a quarter against the 200 we can currently supply," he said. In the past about 3,500 of 4,000 graduates from CYS Multimedia have been placed and by 2010, Mr Sathya expects to place one-lakh graduates.

With the setting up of the production facility, the company will undertake corporate projects relating to game development, design visualisation, e-publishing and 2D animation. The facility will start operations from January and is expected to generate revenues of about $1 billion by 2009, Mr Sathya said.
