Sify Communications Ltd (SifyComm), a subsidiary of Internet and enterprise services company Sify Ltd, has received licences to operate and offer National Long Distance (NLD) and International Long Distance (ILD) services from the Department of Telecommunication, according to a press release.

The licences are prerequisites to operate Sify Ltd's Virtual Private Network (VPN) services. They will also enable SifyComm to offer Domestic Leased Circuits (DLC) and International Private Leased Circuits (IPLC) services used by most multi national companies. Following this announcement, Sify Ltd has transferred its VPN business to SifyComm with immediate effect, said the release.
