Thiruvananthapuram , Nov. 19 Network Systems and Technologies, a subsidiary of the $200-million NeST Group, has entered into a tie up with the US-based Microvision for establishing an offshore development centre for engineering design and development of the latter's laser barcode scanner product. Microvision is a global leader in light scanning technologies for display and imaging products. The NeST engineering team will now work as an extension of the Microvision product development team in Redmond, Washington, on product enhancements and cost reduction. "We believe that the NeST offshore development centre will enable us to achieve several important goals consistent with our business strategy," said Mr Sid Madhavan, Vice-President, Engineering, Microvision. The NeST teams are expected to complement Microvision engineering teams to enable round-the-clock development on the barcode scanner and future products.
