PG course in nuclear engg

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is planning to start a post-graduate course (M. Tech) in Nuclear Engineering. A MAHE release said here on Friday that MAHE, in association with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, is planning to start a PG course in Nuclear Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology in Manipal from the next academic year. MAHE will be the first private institute in India outside the Department of Atomic Energy to have a PG course in Nuclear Engineering. Quoting Dr Alan Nichols, Head of Nuclear Data Section, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the release said that IAEA is looking forward to collaborating with young Indian scientists, including those from MAHE, through the Department of Atomic Energy. According to Dr Nichols, India is expected to play a leading role in nuclear data applications in the betterment of energy, health, food, environment and water resources. There is a strong need for young Indians to participate in generating nuclear data,, he added.
