New Products & Services FreeScale unveils new processor Our Bureau
Bangalore , Nov. 16 Chipmaker Freescale Semiconductor's Indian engineers are engaged in building products that will run digital homes of the future. Introducing the processor, MPC8313E PowerQUICC 2 Pro, Mr Sunil Kaul, Product Marketing Manager, Freescale Semiconductor, said it would enable the company to enter new markets such as digital TV, storage and access points (networking). The reference design (board) built using this multimedia processor can be used for consumer storage appliances, digital TVs, access points, printers and wireless gateways for homes and small offices. Digital media servers and network attached storage (storage devices) for homes based on this processor will also appear on Indian shelves next year. A derivative of the chip, the SC8311 was designed exclusively for the printing and imaging industry. It will feature in laser printers and multi function printers.
