Engineering Thermax Q2 net at Rs 35 cr Our Bureau
Pune , Nov 15 Thermax Ltd, player in the energy and environment sector, has recorded sales of Rs 469.8 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal against Rs 303.62 crore in the corresponding period last year. Profit before exceptional items had increased to 46 per cent. However, net profit for the second quarter was only marginally higher at Rs 35.1 crore, (Rs 25.31 crore) after providing for Rs 23.1 crore towards financial and diminution in investment value, mainly of its UK subsidiary, ME Engineering. For the first six months of the current fiscal, net profit has increased 21 per cent to Rs 62.6 crore (Rs 38.59 crore) while sales rose 23 per cent to Rs 788.4 crore (Rs 526.85 crore). On a consolidated basis, the group sales stood at Rs 858 crore (Rs 534.36 crore). The order backlog on September 30 stood higher at 144 per cent at Rs 2.659 crore. On a consolidated basis, the order backlog was Rs 2,973 crore, up 142 per cent over last year.
