FISHERMEN HARVEST cultured mussels near Chavakkad in Thrissur. Attempts to demonstrate the economic feasibility of mussel farming in the State has led to development of group farming activities in the coastal communities, with support from local administration and developmental agencies such as Brackish Water Fish Farmers' Development Agency and State Fisheries Department.
