JSW Steel hikes price

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Nov. 1

JSW Steel Ltd on Wednesday announced a hike of Rs 1,000 per tonne for its galvanized steel. However, the price of its HR coils remains unchanged.

Mr. MVS Seshagiri Rao, the company's director (Finance), said the price hike for galvanized steel has been necessitated by the steep increase in zinc prices in the international markets. The price of zinc has gone up by $800 to $900 in the last thirty to 35 days. "This increase in galvanized steel prices in the Indian market reflects only a part of the increasing impact of raw material prices," he said.
