Visa-free entry for businessmen in US urged

Our Bureau

Kolkata , Oct. 30

The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) has urged the US Government to allow Indian businessmen to enter the US without any `visa', when such facility is enjoyed by many nations friendly to them.

Speaking at the AGM of IACC, the Chamber's former Eastern Region President, Mr Ashok Aikat, said that Indian businessmen should get this facility in the wake of improved relations between the two countries.

`e-delegation'

Meanwhile, IACC has received a proposal from the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce of New York City for introducing an "e-delegation" system for direct interaction with the CEO of leading companies of the two countries. This system will help businessmen and investors of both the countries understand each other much before making a visit to the respective country.

The outgoing regional President of the chamber, Mr Vikram Swarup, said that West Bengal was an investor-friendly State and a preferred destination for foreign investment, particularly from the US.
