Hyderabad, Oct 23

Andhra Petrochemicals Ltd has registered growth of 58.56 per cent in net sales and over five-fold increase in net profit for the second quarter of current fiscal ended September. While net sales rose to Rs 71.07 crore (Rs 44.82 crore), net profit zoomed to Rs 8.69 crore (Rs 1.27 crore), translating into an EPS of Rs 1.02 (Rs 0.15).

Dr Mullapudi Harischandra Prasad, Managing Director, attributed the improved performance to higher production and increase in sale prices. For the six months ended September 2006, net sales stood at Rs 120.11 crore (Rs 88.51 crore), while net profit was Rs 10.25 crore (Rs 2.91 crore).
