Biz leaders to participate in Wharton India forum in US

Prominent business leaders such as Capt. C.R. Gopinath, Managing Director, Air Deccan; Mr Rahul Bajaj, Chairman Bajaj Auto; and Ms Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Chairperson of Biocon; will be participating in the annual Wharton India Economic Forum (WIFE) to be held in Philadelphia on November 11. The theme of the conference is `Realising Indian Dream'.

The forum is the leading student-run business forum in the US, which is focused on India. Its mission is to focus attention on the potential for the enhancement of economic and business relations between India and other countries.

Other prominent participants include Mr O.P. Bhatt, Chairman, State Bank of India; Dr Anil K. Khandelwal, Chairman & MD, Bank of Baroda; Mr Sanjay Nayar, CEO, India and Area Head, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka, Citigroup from the financial sector; Mr Rajat Jain, Managing Director, Walt Disney Company (India) Pvt Ltd; Mr Manmohan Shetty, Chairman, Adlabs; and film actor Vivek Oberoi from the media and entertainment stream.

Mr Raminder Singh Jassal, Deputy Chief of Mission Embassy of India; Mr Adarsh Kishore, Finance Secretary; Dr Ashok Lahiri, Chief Economic Advisor, Department of Economic Affairs; and Dr Arvind Virmani, Principal Advisor, Planning Commission; will speak on Government and public policies.
