Hyderabad , Oct. 15

Perles De Tahiti, a non-profit economic interest group created by French Polynesia Assembly for promoting the Tahiti-cultured pearls world-wide, is planning to set up exclusive outlets in Hyderabad for promoting the pearls.

Addressing newspersons here on Saturday evening, Mr Sid Banerji, Marketing Director of Castcon International and PR Manager of Perles De Tahiti, said negotiations were currently going on to involve both the Andhra Pradesh Government and trade for the proposed exclusive outlets of Tahitian pearls.

Further, he said discussions were also going on with other State Governments and jewellers for establishing similar exclusive outlets in key cities across the country.

According to him, the Tahitian pearls have been gaining popularity in the country and several Indian jewellers were participating in the International Tahitian Pearl Trophy, a renowned jewellery design contest.

Last year, two Indian jewellery designers bagged awards successfully competing with around 6,000 designers from 36 countries across the globe in 11 different categories.
