The future plans of the state-owned airline Indian to capture an increased share in the market, was reviewed by the Cabinet Secretary, Mr B.K. Chaturvedi here this evening.

The issue of aircraft shortage faced by Indian also came up during the meeting. The airline has already sent several Airbus engines to Germany and Japan in an effort to ensure that its entire fleet of Airbus is operational by the end of the year.

The shortage of spare engine created a situation, which severely depleted the operational strength of aircraft available with the airline. In the recent past Indian has lost market.
