Bond prices rise 16 paise

Bond prices rose by about 16 paise as world oil prices continued to stay below $60 per barrel. Traded volumes on the order-matching system were Rs 2,840 crore (Rs 2,620 crore). "Some of the nationalised banks were seen buying in the market," a dealer said. The 7.59 per cent-10 year-2016 benchmark paper opened at Rs 99.69 (7.63 per cent YTM) and ended at Rs 99.90 (7.60 per cent YTM), higher than Wednesday's Rs 99.74 (7.63 per cent YTM). The 9.39 per cent-5 year-2011 paper opened at Rs 107.62 (7.44 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 107.81 (7.39 per cent YTM) against Wednesday's Rs 107.64 (7.43 per cent YTM).
