Online Marketing Cottons to launch e-biz site Arushi Sen
Mumbai , Oct. 6 Cottons, the branded textile wear from Century Textiles, plans to launch a one-stop online shop for its products by next month. "Right now, our products are available on the Internet through Ebay.com and Rediff.com. We will be coming out with our own site, www.cottonsbycenturyonline.com for our e-business," said Mr Subrata Siddhantha, Business Head, Cottons. The company plans to raise the number of exclusive retail outlets from 66 to 125 by the end of the year. The investment per store is about Rs 25-30 lakh. "Cottons" is also branching out into multi-brand retail outlets (MBOs). "For other brands 80 per cent of business comes from MBOs and we have been missing out on this totally," said Mr Siddhantha. For the last fiscal, the turnover for "Cottons" was Rs 26 crore from 30 stores, with an average realisation of Rs 75 lakh per store. The target for the current year is Rs 60 crore. In the next three-four months, "Cottons" will be launching two new brands a denim and a women's wear brand based on ethnic and western designs. "Even though Cottons is a men's brand, we noticed that 33 per cent of our customers were women. By launching a brand for women, we will be able to offer something to all our customers," said Mr Siddhantha. Initially, the new brands will be marketed in exclusive brand outlets before being launched through multi-brand outlets.
