Lakshmi Mills forays into readymade garments segment

Launches western casual wear brand `Tyche Life'

New Delhi , Oct 6

Lakshmi Mills Company Ltd has announced its foray into the readymade garments segment with the launch of its own western casual wear brand, `Tyche Life'.

"We will sell our products through wholesale and multi-branded retail outlets and large format chain stores across the country and we propose to have our products available at around 800 outlets by the end of fiscal 2007. Tyche Life clothing, to be sold primarily in Tier 1 and Tier 11 cities, is made of soft yarn from imported Lenzing micro-modal fibres with blended cotton manufactured in technical guidelines with Lenzing Ag, Austria," said Mr N. Jaychander, Vice-President - Operations, Lakshmi Mills Company Ltd.

Explaining the idea behind the name of the brand, Mr Jaychander said, "Tyche means Greek goddess of prosperity and fortune which is synonyms with Lakshmi, the Indian goddess of wealth and prosperity. The products are priced in the range of Rs 400-1,000."
