Hyderabad , Sept. 28

The Taiwan-based TPV Technology, one of the major players in the global OEM in the computer monitors segment, will launch designer models under its own brand AOC next month.

The company, which has started selling AOC brand monitors last year in the country, would roll out the high-end market by launching fashion and professional monitors series in October.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr Mukesh Gupta, Country Head, TPV Technology, said the company targeted to sell one lakh AOC monitors this year.

The company, which registered sales revenues of Rs 500 crore last calendar year, was targeting Rs 700 crore this year with a total monitor sales of 15 lakh.

With the sales growing rapidly, the company was contemplating to set up a manufacturing base in India in the next two years. At present, it was importing monitors to meet the demand. "The critical mass is 4-5 million for setting up a manufacturing facility. We expect that to reach that stage in the next two years," he said.

Globally, the company had a market share of 30 per cent in a market size of 125 million.

Mr Gupta was here in connection with the launch of new series of LCD monitors in Andhra Pradesh.
