Viruses Marketing - New Products & Services Rudra Tech anti virus software Our Bureau
Chennai , Sept. 28 Rudra Technologies Ltd has launched an anti virus software based on a new technology that does away with updates and patches. According to Mr N.S. Baskar, Managing Director, Rudra Technologies, "This software is built on `intention-based technology' as opposed to the existing signature and heuristic-based technologies." As the technology is independent of databases, once installed, the software does not require any updates or patches, Mr Baskar said. The company is in talks with India's largest PC manufacturer and is expected to enter into a tie up with it soon, Mr Baskar said. "We are also looking at original equipment manufacturers to distribute the software. Companies like Microsoft are willing to support our marketing initiative," he said. The software is priced at about Rs 1,800 and works on Windows 2000 and Windows XP SP2 client systems. The software cannot co-exist with other anti virus software and will be available online for a 15 days free trial.
