New Delhi, Sept. 27

The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Mr T.R. Baalu has approved Rs 137.16 crore for development of various national highways stretches in Assam under Special Accelerated Road Development Programme in north-eastern region (SARDP -NE).

Apart from two-laning of three stretches and widening of another, the approvals include preparations of detailed project reports for two projects and land acquisition for another project, said an official release. The projects would be implemented by Public Works Department, Assam and Border Roads Organisation.
