SCCL wins mine rescue contest in China

Hyderabad , Sept. 25

In providing first aid and rescue operations, a team from the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL), has won the runner's up prize at the global competition held in China recently.

The State-owned, SCCL was also the only coal company from India to take part in such international rescue competitions so far, a press release said here on Monday.

The 10-member rescue team, led by Mr J.V. Dattatreyulu, Director (P&P) and Mr Shashi Kapoor, Chief General Manager (Safety), participated in the two-day contest held at Pingdingshan, China, during September 15-16.

A total of 10 teams from eight countries participated. The teams were from Australia, Russia, the US and China.
