Reliance finds gas in KG basin

Mumbai Sept. 23

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has discovered gas in the Krishna-Godavari basin off the east coast of India. The company has notified the Directorate General of Hydrocarbon about the gas discovery in KG-OSN-2001/1 (NELP III) block. The discovery has been named Dhirubhai28. The notification was made in terms of the production sharing contract signed between RIL and the Government of India. A company press release said the potential commercial interest of the discovery was yet to be established.
