Strategy FritoLay to bring in Quaker Oats range Our Bureau
Pune , Sept. 22 FritoLay plans to bring in the entire range of Quaker Oats products, which include oat products, cereals and readymixes, after getting a feedback from consumers for the breakfast cereal. Mr Manu Anand, Managing Director, FritoLay, on a visit to the company's Ranjangaon plant in Pune, said currently, the oats were being imported from Australia and repackaged from the Pune plant. He said it would only be done at the Pune plant and not at other locations such as Channo in Punjab or in Kolkata. Mr Anand said heading to consumer wishes, the company has launched its new Lehar Lites, roasted range of namkeen. It has three variants of the roasted range and three of the less-oil range. Mr Anand said the company, which was into water treatment, has piloted the root zone treatment and starch recovery treatment from Pune. This would be rolled out across the other locations, he said. Looking at Maharashtra in specific, he said FritoLay, which started partnering with the farmers in Maharashtra in 2001, has today over 3,500 farmers in Pune, Nasik, Satara, Kolhapur and Nagar districts.
