Fire at Tata Motors' Pune unit

A fire broke out at the paint shop of Tata Motors here early on Thursday morning.

The plant manufactures the Indica, Indigo and Indigo Marina models.

Tata Motors said in a statement that the cause of the fire and the extent of the damages were being ascertained and that the production could be affected for about a week. After that, it could take "some time for the facility to ramp up fully to its existing production levels", the statement said. The company has about a week's inventory of supply float in the pipeline.
