Raymond Ltd has announced the renewal of its contract with Konaka & Co Ltd, one of the leading menswear retailers in Japan, and Lims International Co Ltd, a garment sourcing and manufacturing firm from Japan, a close associate of Konaka.

The original two-year contract was for dedicating a part of the capacity of men's suits at Raymond's manufacturing plant in Bangalore for manufacturing and supplying half canvas mens' suits to Konaka. The renewed contract is for three years and up to 150,000 suits will be supplied a year.

"Raymond has grown to be one of the most respected integrated producers of textiles and garments by demonstrating quality and excellence with our products. With the support of partners such as Konaka, we will forge ahead into the global arena," said Mr Gautam Singhania, CMD, Raymond Ltd, in a press release.

"If we are to work with an Indian company, we cannot think of any company other than Raymond," said Mr Kensuke Konaka, President, Konaka & Co Ltd.
