RMM to set up school in Mumbai

Our Bureau

Mumbai , Sept 19.

The Rajasthani Mahila Mandal (RMM) is planning to set up an English medium high school and a polytechnic institute for women in Mumbai to mark its 50 years of celebrations. Ms Rajashree Birla, trustee of RMM, said the school and institute would be set up within a time frame of four years.

"The trust has changed the lives of thousands of women and children. We are working with underprivileged women giving them several odd jobs like making pickles, papads, condiments, snacks and handicrafts. We conduct vocational training classes for children and grown ups like tailoring, fashion design and dress making," she pointed out.

The organisation has two Hindi-medium primary schools with strength of 500 students. The Trust had recently launched an English pre-primary school.

The Vice-President, Mr Bhairon Singh Shekwat, and Mr L.M. Singhvi, High Commisioner to the U.K., will be inaugurating the function on September 22 to mark the organisation's golden jubilee celebrations.
