MTNL revises pulse rates

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Sept. 19

Overseas calls have just become cheaper with the revision of pulse rates by MTNL on international long distance (ILD) services. After the revised pulse rates, customers can now talk longer for the same tariff, an MTNL press release said. The new pulse rates would be effective from 1 p.m. on September 20.

The new pulse rates for countries such as the US, Canada and other countries with ISD code 001, the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia would be nine seconds. For countries such as Europe (except the UK), Gulf, Asia SAARC, and Africa, the pulse rate would be 6 seconds and for rest of the world, including Oceania, it would be 4 seconds.

The INMARSAT calls would be more affordable with the pulse rate of 250 m sec. However, the revised pulse rates would not be applicable to subscribers under `One India Plan'.
