American Higher Education India to expand

American Higher Education India Pvt Ltd, which opened its first learning centre in Gurgaon to introduce online courses in the country from prestigious universities such as Harvard, Boston and Columbia, is on expansion mode.

It would be opening another two centres in Mumbai and Bangalore. Besides, it would be adding online courses from another three well-known American universities to its portfolio.

"We are planning to open one centre each in Mumbai and Bangalore in the first phase. The in-charge for the Bangalore centre will be onboard in about a month. Besides, we will be bringing courses from another three top universities," said Mr Nagesh Singh, President,

The expansion is part of the company's plan to have 12 centres across the country, for which it is currently scouting for partners.

With regards to the online courses being offered, the institution has received 150 applications for the engineering degree from Columbia University. The course is slated to start towards the end of the current year. It has also got 45-50 enrolments for the Harvard Graduate School of Education skill enhancement programmes for teachers beginning later this month.

The parent organisation, Boston-based American Higher Education Inc, works with top 100 US universities for education and training solutions. Delhi (Gurgaon) was the first overseas learning centre opened by the company. Other such learning centres are being planned in Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing and Kuwait.
