Our Bureau

Bangalore, Sept. 14

Storage networking firm Emulex, which acquired the Bangalore-based Aarohi Communications early this year in a $40-million deal, plans to enhance its India research and development capabilities over the next two years. Aarohi is a supplier of intelligent data centre networking components and software. Emulex plans to triple its India research and development team to about 100 engineers in 2 years and invest between $10 and $15 million in expanding its operations here, the company's Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, Mr Michael J. Rockenbach. Aarohi currently has a development team of 35 engineers in Bangalore. Emulex expects to offload more R&D work to its India development centre. "Our next generation platform for embedded storage product group would be developed in Bangalore," he said.
