BOOMING: A grower inspecting coffee beans at a plantation near Adimali in Kerala. Coffee prices are witnessing a boom that witnessed way back in 1998. Shortage of beans with roasters and funds interest in coffee have pushed the prices to seven-year high. On Thursday, robusta futures for benchmark November delivery were quoted at $1,565 a tonne. Arabica prices have also gained, though not as sharply as robustas. On Wednesday, the active December futures on New York Board of Trade closed at 104.40 cents a pound.
