`Curb lorry movement to Kerala'

Coimbatore, Sept. 13

The State Lorry Owners' Federation-Tamilnadu (SLOF-T) has requested its members not to operate their vehicles to Kerala from the midnight of September 15 to express solidarity with the heavy vehicle operators in Kerala who have called for an indefinite strike. In a statement, Mr P. Sengodan, President, SLOF-T, Namakkal, said to protest against the order of Kerala Government to fit speed governors in all heavy vehicles, the owners of heavy vehicles including lorries, trailers, tankers and LPG containers have called for an indefinite strike from September 15 midnight. He wanted the Tamil Nadu transport operators to lend their support to the agitating heavy vehicle owners in Kerala by not operating their vehicles to Kerala from the midnight Friday.
