Kochi , Sept. 12

The International Centre for Economic Policy and Analysis (ICEPA) of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) in association with Tilburg University, Holland, Public Sector Restructuring and Internal Audit Board and the Kerala Management Association is jointly organising an international seminar on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Kerala on current issues and future trends, on Saturday.

The seminar on corporate social responsibility is the first attempt of its kind in Kerala and tries to provide a platform for management practitioners, policy makers and researchers to share their views and experiences about the role that business is expected to play in the globalised world, Dr D. Rajasenan, Director of ICEPA, said at a press meet.

The occasion assumes international dimension, as researchers from the Netherlands, Italy and Bangladesh would present views about CSR in their respective part of the globe. The international participation is made possible by the funding of the seminar by the Netherlands Embassy. The seminar makes an attempt in bringing various interested parties to a common platform, he said.

Of late, the corporations have shown a lot of exuberance in social issues and had contributed generously to victims of natural disasters, building townships, providing education to under privileged children, establishing help centres for equipping people with special mental requirements to be financially on their own.
