New Delhi, Sept. 8

Whirlpool Corporation is expecting a 20 per cent growth for the full year and 40 per cent in the coming festive season.

"Our market share in the refrigerators and washing machine has grown in 2005 and we expect to see the same trend over the next 12-18 months," said Mr Arvind Uppal, Managing Director of Whirlpool India, on Friday at the launch of their products in the refrigerator and washing machine category. He also said that the investment of $15-20 million announced earlier will be for introducing more products, manufacturing as well as for its research and development facilities.

The company is adding three washing machines and a refrigerator to its product category starting this festive season. It has earmarked Rs 60 crore for advertising and marketing of the products for the Diwali promotion.

The company's turnover for the period April 2005-March 2006 stood at Rs 1,376 crore and had witnessed a growth of 27 per cent for the same period of the previous fiscal.
