MMA to organise students' convention

The Madras Management Association (MMA) will organise its fifth management students' convention on September 8 and 9 here. Titled `Beyond Quality: Breakthrough innovation', the convention would see more than 800 delegates participating, according to Major S. Lakshmanan, Executive Director, MMA. The delegates would include students, faculty of colleges and corporate participants. This year, the convention would bring industry heads such as Mr D. Shiv Kumar, Managing Director, Nokia India; Mr P. Rama Babu, Managing Director, EID Parry; and Mr Shishir Lal, Managing Director, Wordspace India, participating in the business sessions. Some of the events that would take place as a part of the programme include paper presentations by students, a business proposal competition, and a role-play event that would simulate a job interview, conducted by Ma Foi Management Consultants. The prizes that are on offer include cash awards of Rs 25,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively for the top three business proposals, and Rs 20,000 as first prize and Rs 10,000 as second prize for the paper presentation competition.
