Mixed trend in spot rubber

Our Correspondent

Kottayam , Aug 31

Spot rubber showed a mixed trend on Thursday. The undercurrent was steady though certain grades fluctuated in a narrow range on scattered transactions.

Buying at lower levels kept the counters live throughout the session but major manufacturers were unwilling to enhance their quotes further. Sheet rubber finished steady at Rs 87 a kg at Kottayam as on Wednesday.

Futures improve

The rubber futures improved followed by an almost steady closing in international indices. The September contract was traded at Rs 87.61 (87.32), October at Rs 85 (84.22), November at Rs 84.25 (83.50) and December at Rs 84.88 (84.28) for RSS 4 on NMCE.

The per kg spot rubber rates were: RSS-4 87 (87), RSS-5 85 (85), Ungraded 82.50 (83), ISNR 20 85 (84.50) and Latex 60% 70 (70).
