Thiruvananthapuram , Aug. 31

A three-day international tourism expo will be held in the city from September 7. The event is being jointly organised by Indian Trade Fair Foundation, Tourism India magazine, South Kerala Hoteliers Forum and IATA Agents Association of India.

Announcing this at a press conference in the city on Thursday, Mr N. Gopakumar, Chief Executive, Indian Trade Fair Foundation said that the event will be held at the premises of St Josephs School in the city. The international tourism expo is the first such tourism event to be held in the city, he claimed. The tourism expo, which will coincide with the last three days of the `Onam week' celebrations being organised by the Kerala Tourism, will offer visitors an opportunity to learn more about other cultures and also browse through a number of holiday options, he pointed out.

Tourism boards from several Indian states, national and international airlines, hotels and resorts, tour operators and many other players from the tourism and travel industry will participate in the event, he said. The Kerala Tourism and the Home Minister, Mr Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, are scheduled to inaugurate the event, he added.
