Sanofi grant to Isha Foundation

Pharma major Sanofi Aventis India has offered to support Isha Foundation's initiatives in the rural areas by offering a grant of Rs 24 lakh this year.

The fund is to be made available in two equal installments. Presenting the first part, Dr Shailesh Ayyangar, Managing Director, Sanofi Aventis, said it was aimed at meeting the operational cost of Isha's mobile health clinics. The company has sponsored one of the 19 mobile health clinics operated by the Foundation. The mobile health clinics provide basic healthcare such as dispensing free medicine and creating healthcare awareness among the rural folk in over 2,000 villages in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. r Ayyangar, while indicating his intention to expand collaborations with the Foundation in the areas of health, has also assured medical donation for use in clinics.
