TERI, GTZ award for fighting AIDS

The Energy Research Institute (TERI) and German Technical Cooperation organisation, GTZ on Tuesday announced an award for corporates, which will recognise private initiative in fighting HIV/AIDS. This will be to encourage private sector participation along with the Government and civil society in fighting AIDS.

According to a release, the award will acknowledge and felicitate companies who have successfully launched and executed intervention programmes either at the workplace or within a community. Mr R.K. Pachauri, Director-General, TERI, said in the release, "The award will encourage participation of the private sector in launching HIV/AIDS programmes."
