Hyderabad , Aug. 15 The Rajahmundry Asset of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has produced 757 tonnes of oil per day during the last month, the highest in the last three years, according to Mr A.A. Khan, Executive Director and Asset Manager. Currently, the Asset produces 725 tonnes of oil and 4.30 million cubic metres of gas per day. Till June 2005, it produced an average of 550 mt of oil and 4.2 million cubic metres of gas. Mr Khan, speaking at an Independence Day function in Rajahmundry said, "Now we will be focusing on the existing reserves by adopting new drilling and production methods. One such novel experiment which is paying good dividend is side-tracking and cluster drilling." Wells such as GMAC, KWDH, Endamuru-2 and KV-4A, earmarked for abandonment and found non-flowing for so many years were identified and side tracked using hi-tech in-house tools. All these have brought in an additional production of 98 cubic metres of oil and 1,87,000 cubic metres of gas per day. The Tatipaka refinery was producing HF-HSD to meet the requirement of both onshore and offshore rigs, saving Rs 10 crore per annum, according to an ONGC press release from Rajahmundry. In his Independence Day address, he declared solidarity with the flood-affected people of the State during the recent cyclone and heavy rains. He complimented ONGC employees, particularly the crisis management team and others for their services in the flood-affected areas.
