New Delhi, Aug. 15

LT Overseas, owners of `Dawat' basmati brand, is all set to foray into the ready-to-cook flavoured rice segment.

"We have already successfully developed ready-to-cook flavoured rice varieties and would soon launch lemon, mushroom and tomato flavours," said Mr V.K. Arora, Chairman and Managing Director, LT Overseas.

The company has also tied up with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd to sell Dawat through its cooking gas outlets.

LT overseas has also launched a basmati sub-brand `Chief's Choice' to attract institutional sales. Mr Arora said, "We plan to focus more on the domestic market as the price realisation is equally good compared to the exports markets."

The company plans to raise funds to meet its expansion plans through an initial public offering and will issue 77 lakh shares of Rs 10 each for cash at premium to be decided through the book-building process.
